Well for starters:

1. Install a security camera system. You can’t always be the eyes of your business. You have a family, you have to sleep, there are other things you need to do other than watch over your business. However, business security cameras can be your eyes when you’re not around. A security camera is the perfect device to watch over your business and be able to catch a thief in the act OR EVEN STOP A THIEF!

2. Be unpredictable. If you develop a routine, customers or workers know where you are at a given time. Without that predictability, they won’t know if you will be around to catch them in the act so they are less likely to steal from you.

3. Be more aware of your workers. You should know where they are at all times. You should know when they arrive, when they leave, you should know their schedule as well as what they do.

In addition, prioritize and keep an eye on your most valuable items and know how many you have. You obviously don’t want any items being stolen, but if candy that costs about a dollar each is getting stolen, it’s better than items that are exponentially more expensive.
